Fire Department members are always learning new and improved methods of Fire Fighting and Emergency preparedness.
Due to the nature of volunteer fire departments, each member must be trained in all aspects of fire fighting. This is due to the fact that we cannot rely on a member specializing in a particular field responding to every alarm. Each member is trained in all fields, so they are able to perform any task assigned to them. Activities of members 16 and 17 years old are limited, and may not enter a burning structure. Junior members 14 and 15 years old may not respond to fire calls, but their activities are limited to training, cleanup and overhaul after the fire has been extinguished.
